Hey, it’s Juan from JUANminiDIY! Today, I’m beyond excited to show you one of our latest finished projects—a JMD Zero WASD Fightstick that we crafted for a client who wanted precision, style, and comfort all in one stick.
If you’re a serious gamer, especially into fighting games or games where rapid movement matters, this build will give you a feel of what a premium custom arcade stick should be.
The JMD Zero: Case Design That Stands Out
We started with our JMD Zero case design, inspired by the sleek and modern look of the Victrix but with our own unique twist.
The front and back panels are beautifully rounded, giving it a smooth and ergonomic feel in your hands. This isn’t just about looks; those curves mean your wrists and arms will be comfortable during long gaming sessions.
The case itself is crafted from Narra hardwood, one of my favorite types of wood to work with. Not only is it durable, but it also has a rich, luxurious texture that we enhanced with a Stained Brown finish. It’s hard to resist running your fingers over this case—it just feels so premium.
WASD Layout: Next-Level Control
This stick features a WASD layout, but here’s where it gets interesting. Most WASD keys you’d find on the market are either raised or have a kit that adds extra height.
Not with our build! We made the WASD keys flush with the case, meaning the control is tighter, and everything feels perfectly integrated.
You’ll get the precision you want without that awkward 4mm height you’d find with ordinary WASD keys. This detail alone sets it apart from your typical consumer arcade stick.
In addition to the main WASD keys, we added two extra face buttons, giving you more versatility for your gaming needs.
The Buttons: JMD Oki Brilliance
I have to talk about the buttons because they’re a highlight in themselves.
We used 10 pieces of our 24 mm JMD Oki buttons—and let me tell you, these are a gamer’s dream. They’re soft, silent, and designed to feel just right.
A lot of our clients say they prefer these over big-name brands like Gamerfinger and Sanwa, and I can’t blame them. The JMD Oki buttons give you that premium, responsive feel without breaking the bank.

Extra Touches: LED Indicator, USB Type-C, and More
This build comes with all the features you’d expect in a high-end fightstick. It has touchpad, PS, select, and start buttons easily accessible on the face.
There’s also an LED power indicator that adds a cool visual element, and the USB Type-C port ensures your connection is fast and secure.
Clear Acrylic Bottom Cover: See Through the Magic
For this build, the client requested a clear acrylic bottom cover, which lets you see the beautiful internal wiring and craftsmanship that went into this stick.
We do offer options for a wooden bottom cover or a magnetic acrylic cover, depending on your preference, but the see-through option is perfect if you want to show off the internals.
The Brain: Brook P5 Plus Fighting Board
No custom stick is complete without a reliable PCB, and for this build, we used the Brook P5 Plus Fighting Board.
It’s compatible with PC, PS4, PS5, and even the Nintendo Switch, so this fightstick can handle whatever platform you throw at it. The responsiveness and minimal input delay make it ideal for competitive gaming.
Custom Art: Personalize Your Stick
One thing I love about building these custom sticks is the chance to add some personal flair.
For this project, our client asked for custom box art created by our in-house artist. It really makes the stick one of a kind, but if you’ve got your own design in mind, we can absolutely make that happen too!
