Geek+Pop Fight Club: Street Fighter 6 Tournament Recap

Taking time off to support the Filipino Fighting Game Community and the JMD SF6 Club members is always worth it, especially when it means attending events like the Geek+Pop Fight Club: Street Fighter 6 Tournament at SM Makati.

From the moment I walked in, the energy was electric.

There’s something special about being surrounded by passionate players, catching up with familiar faces, and meeting new ones who share the same love for the game.

What stood out to me the most is the incredible growth of the Street Fighter 6 (SF6) community here in the Philippines.

Each event seems to attract more players and supporters, and it’s heartwarming to witness this surge of enthusiasm firsthand.

Proud Moments as a Fightstick Maker

Over 20 skilled players joined the tournament, and as I watched the matches unfold, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride.

Why? Because many of them were using JUANminiDIY custom fightsticks. 😃

Seeing my handmade creations in action, helping players showcase their skills, is one of the most fulfilling aspects of what I do.

When the competition narrowed down to the Top 8, five of them were JMD fightstick users!

And the cherry on top?

Both finalists—Andrew De Jesus (IGN: Andoru) and Jed James Pasco (IGN: bobps3)—are members of the JMD SF6 Club and were wielding my custom creations.

The Championship Showdown

The finals were nothing short of exhilarating.

Andoru brought his iconic Zangief to the fight, while bobps3 showcased his dynamic Kimberly.

Andoru had fought his way up from the losers’ bracket, a feat that always demands resilience and focus.

On the other side, bobps3 held strong in the winners’ bracket, playing with confidence and flair.

The match was intense and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Despite Andoru’s incredible efforts, bobps3 claimed victory with a close 3-1 score, securing his spot as the champion of the Geek+Pop Fight Club.

Why I Love Supporting the Community

Events like this reignite my passion for the fighting game community.

It’s more than just building arcade sticks for me—it’s about being part of something bigger, something that brings people together.

Seeing JMD fightsticks empowering players to perform at their best is an unmatched feeling.

But it’s not just about the fightsticks. Supporting the community—whether by attending tournaments, cheering on players, or contributing in any way I can—reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.

Huge Thanks to the Organizers and Sponsors

Big props to Geek+Pop for organizing such an incredible event and to the sponsors: SM Cyberzone, PC Express – SM Makati, and PLDT HOME for making it all possible.

A shoutout to the casters for their entertaining commentary and, of course, to every single player who brought their A-game to the tournament.
