The Ultimate Showdown: RJ Villarin vs. Jed James in a Breathtaking Finals!
What an incredible day it was at the Geek+Pop Super Turbo Round 2 Event yesterday!
The Street Fighter 6 tournament at Ayala Malls Circuit, Makati was absolutely electric.
Twenty players faced off in a double elimination bracket, but all eyes were on the final two: RJ Villarin (IGN: H1ghscor3) and Jed James (IGN: bobps3), two of the finest Street Fighter players in the country.
These guys are legends in their own right, and it was no surprise to see them battle it out in the final round.
Both of them represent the JMD SF6 Club, proudly using their JMD custom wooden fightsticks.
The Epic Final Battle
Let me tell you, this was no ordinary final. It was an absolute nail-biter from start to finish!
RJ brought his signature Akuma, the powerful and fearsome character known for his devastating mix-ups and raw offensive power.
Facing him was Jed, wielding the ultra-quick and unpredictable Kimberly, who thrives on speed and relentless pressure.
If there’s anyone who can dance around Akuma’s fireballs and dive kicks, it’s Kimberly—and Jed plays her like an absolute maestro.
The final match was intense, with the two fighters going head-to-head and trading rounds, leaving the score tied at 2-2.
The tension in the crowd was palpable, every combo sending waves of cheers and gasps across the venue.
It all came down to that final moment—one last scramble—and RJ seized the win with a brilliant counter, sealing his victory and securing the title!
His precision and calm in the clutch moments were nothing short of spectacular, proving once again why he’s one of the best Street Fighter players in the country.
RJ’s trusty JMD Leverless Custom Fightstick was as sharp as his gameplay, while Jed’s JMD Narra Vicious Lever Fightstick gave him the edge he needed to push RJ to the limit.
These two weren’t just fighting for a title—they were battling for pride, glory, and the thrill of competition.

Why This Was a Match for the Ages
This was more than just a championship match; it was a collision of two incredible players at the top of their game.
RJ has already made his mark on the global stage, representing the Philippines in the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and securing multiple 1st-place finishes, including the Sibol Road to Asian Games and GOT NEXT! The Last SB Offline Tournament.
He’s a player who thrives under pressure, and yesterday was no different.

On the other side, Jed is an absolute force to be reckoned with. His 2024 streak has been insane—winning the Shoryu: Tournament of Power and Campus Legends Invitational, just to name a few.
He’s also dominated local tournaments and even placed 7th in the CPT 2024 World Warrior Asia Southeast, making him one of the fastest-rising stars in the scene.

It’s incredible to see how much the community has grown and how our custom arcade sticks are helping players bring their A-game.
I can’t even begin to explain how proud I was, sitting there with my SF6 Club teammates, watching our friends and fellow club members light up the tournament.
I almost missed this event because of some last-minute fightstick wiring I had to do (you know how it is!), but I’m so glad I took a day off to attend.
The adrenaline, the hype—just being there to cheer on my fellow club members was worth every second.
