Hey everyone, Juan here from JUANminiDIY! Today, I’m excited to share a closer look at one of our most requested builds—our JMD Signature Case Design.
This one’s made of Narra hardwood, and we’ve stained it in dark brown, giving it that rich, elegant finish.
It’s a favorite among our clients, and for good reason!
Let me walk you through the features of this custom arcade stick we recently completed for a client.
JMD Customs Signature Case Design
The JMD Signature is hands down our most requested case design, and it’s easy to understand why.
Its standout feature is the angled cut with rounded edges, which gives it an ergonomic feel.
You won’t feel any sharp corners digging into your palms or wrists, even during those long, intense gaming sessions.
It’s all about comfort, and if you’ve ever experienced fatigue from using a standard fightstick, you’ll notice the difference right away with this design.
It’s also a compact build, coming in at about 4 lbs. With dimensions of 15x8x2 inches, it’s the perfect balance between portability and durability.
You can easily bring it to tournaments or casual meet-ups, without feeling weighed down.
Plus, the minimalist layout makes it sleek and straightforward—just the essentials, no clutter.
Narra Hardwood Stained in Dark Brown
I have a special place in my heart for Narra hardwood. Not only is it a beautiful, native wood here in the Philippines, but it’s also incredibly durable.
This client wanted a dark brown stain, which really brought out the grain of the wood and gave it a rich, almost luxurious vibe.
The natural texture of Narra, combined with the stain, makes each case unique—no two cases ever look exactly the same.
Minimalist Layout
This particular build has a 6-button layout with a joystick, as requested by the client. It keeps things simple yet effective, perfect for players who like a clean and uncluttered design.
Whether you’re into Street Fighter, Tekken, or any other fighting game, this setup offers just the right amount of functionality.
Sanwa JLX Lever
When it comes to performance, we don’t skimp on the details. This build features the latest Sanwa JLX lever, which is a major upgrade from the older JLF model.
The JLX lever is smoother and more accurate when you’re rotating it, especially for complex inputs like quarter-circle and 360-degree motions.
If you’re a player who relies on precise control, this lever will make a noticeable difference in your gameplay.
Sanwa OBSF Screw-In Buttons
Unlike the typical snap-in buttons, we used Sanwa OBSF screw-in buttons for this build.
Why screw-in? They offer a more secure fit, reducing the chances of them coming loose during heavy use.
Plus, they feel just as responsive as the snap-ins, so you’re not sacrificing performance for durability.
Side Buttons and USB Type-C
On the side of the case, we’ve installed four 24mm Sanwa buttons for essential functions: touchpad, home PS, select, and start. These are perfectly placed for quick access, without getting in the way of your main controls.
And let’s talk about the USB Type-C port. It’s fast, reliable, and future-proof—everything you’d want from a modern connection. Paired with an LED power indicator, you’ll always know when your stick is plugged in and ready to go.
Bottom Cover Options: Choose Your Style
The default setup includes a standard wood bottom cover, but we offer upgrades if you want something more high-end.
You can opt for an acrylic bottom cover with screws, or for something extra sleek, go for the magnetic acrylic bottom cover.
The choice is yours!
PCB and Customization
This stick comes equipped with our custom JMD GP2040-CE MINI PCB, which is fantastic for PC and retro console play.
But if you need wider compatibility, we offer an upgrade with the PS5 kit converter, allowing you to use the stick with PC, Switch, PS4, and PS5.
Whether you’re playing older titles or the latest releases, we’ve got you covered.
Custom Box Art
For the finishing touch, the client opted for a black silver wood vinyl finish. It’s a sleek, minimalist look that pairs beautifully with the dark brown stain of the Narra wood.
If you’re into more custom designs, we offer a variety of wood vinyl options, including dark wood and white wood.
Many of our clients even commission custom artwork for the top panel—either their own design or with help from our in-house artist (for an additional fee).
The possibilities are endless!

It’s our seal of authenticity and pride in what we do.
Cost Estimate
The estimated cost for this custom arcade stick is USD 240 / PHP 12,000, excluding shipping fees.
It’s a premium build, but the quality and comfort make it worth every penny!
